The college is a co-educational institution situated in an economically backward and rural area of the Haridwar district in Uttarakhand. The college offers undergraduate programs both in the Arts and Science streams to the aspiring youths of the district.
“The college aims to bring Social change by educating the rural and underprivileged youth”
With this view, our college has its own vision and mission statements i.e. “Our Resolve – The Development Of Higher Education With High Ideals” and “Intellectual And Overall Development Of Rural Talents Is The Mission Of College Education” respectively. Accordingly we always try to function to enhance the quality of life of rural area students through higher education, since education is the most efficient agent to bring positive change and development in any society. The college emphasizes the need to mainstream the marginalized and weaker sections of students to ensure justice and equity in society. The Mission is to steer the education it offers not only towards the pragmatic goal of employability but also to build a life of the mind and sensitize and orient its students to the service of the community, in the quest for a better life for society and the world that we inhabit.
To achieve our goals we also remain conscious about the suitability and appropriateness of our work in the National Context and for that we always adhere to the value framework based on five core values endorsed by NAAC for it’s A&A Process. As far as our Mission and Vision are concerned, the college always tries to implement distinctiveness in the work. Our college has a large number of students from the surrounding villages. The number of girl students is more in number. Most of the students from rural areas have poor backgrounds, but they are not poor in talent, knowledge, and humility. As an institution, we always strive for bringing their hidden talent to light. The priority of the college is to provide quality higher education aimed at enhancing the required knowledge and skills. This institution was established on the year 2014. The main aim was to provide an opportunity to the rural students of this area especially the rural girl students to pursue higher education for their socio-economic development and the progress of their families.
In accordance with the mission statement our college gives exposure to rural students to get an opportunity to participate in every curricular, extracurricular, and extension activity very actively like professional, cultural, and social consciousness, alertness, and responsiveness. The cultural council of the college provides them with an opportunity to participate in various cultural competitions at various levels. The College Organizes several awareness drives in its nearby villages every year in which teachers and students participate. In order to foster global competencies among students we are trying to bring rural area students into the Professional Courses also after completing their graduation besides going for higher education in other institutions. The college always considers the progress of rural area students as the actual strength of the institution. The electoral literacy club of the college has made our youth and local community aware of the importance of fair election process and its connection to the removal of backwardness of the region by making the elected representatives to be more responsive towards the issues relevant to the development of the region. The carrier guidance cell of the college has always guided the students that how they can crack different competitive exams like SSC, banking, railway, NET, etc. by organizing seminars, and inviting talks from professionals of the industry and the faculties who themselves have cracked such examinations previously.The result of such efforts will soon be reflected in the performance of our students. We are trying to increase the domain so that our students can be made ready for national-level examinations to enable them to contribute for national development in a broader context.
The college also undertakes several initiatives to inculcate a value system by sensitizing students to gender equity, energy conservation measures, inclusiveness, human values, etc. Keeping all these in view, the college organizes several programs such as lectures, popular talks, workshops, seminars, and sports competitions. The college always ensures the participation of students as well as of the local people in such programs of the college. So that students and local people can be sensitized to such issues. Therefore, it can be said that the college provides quality education and opportunities to students as well as to local people for their intellectual and emotional growth through different programs which are relevant and responsive to the needs of the rural and educationally backward society of this region of the state.
The process of betterment of students as well as of faculty and institution itself is an ongoing process. It is like a Quest for Excellence which we have initiated and continuously taking forward with the goal of development of our rural talents to contribute in national development by fostering among them global competencies, technological advancement with higher ideals and a strong value system.
